1-1 NLP Coaching / Mentoring

The main aim of TLSMA is to provide young people with a safe space to offload whatever might be bothering them, but also working on how to move forward using the techniques highlighted in the about TLSMA section of the website.

A free consultation to meet me and discuss what the young person wants to get out of the sessions is available. This will help me tailor their support package and make it unique to them – it will ask questions about their life to ensure I can remain as trauma informed as possible.

Workshops

I deliver a range of 4 to 6 week workshops for groups of young people to access. These include workshops on:

  • Building confidence, self-esteem and body positivity.
  • Having healthy relationships.
  • Substance misuse.
  • Internet safety.
  • Stranger danger, grooming and exploitation.
  • Bullying, peer pressure.
  • Understanding emotions and building resilience.
  • Psychoeducation – understanding the brain, stress and trauma.
  • Puberty, sex and growing up.
  • Consent, rape and harassment.
  • Understanding the criminal justice process.
  • Practical life skills – CV Building. job search and application, interview skills and money management.

All of these topics and more can also be covered on a 1-1 basis.

Recovery Toolkit Programmes

These programmes are for those who find themselves wanting to really dedicate themselves to changing. They cover a lot of detailed content. They run over the course of 8, 10 or 12 weeks. The Rockpool CIC training I have completed is very thorough, well thought out and proven to make a difference. These toolkits are best delivered to groups but can be delivered on a 1-1 basis.

Currently available:

  • The Sexual Violence Recovery Toolkit (12 weeks)

Coming soon:

  • Children and Young People’s Adverse Childhood Experiences Toolkit (8 weeks)
  • Adult Adverse Childhood Experiences Recovery Toolkit (10 weeks)

Peer Support Groups

Most children learn from one another, however the information can sometimes be misconstrued or incorrect, leading to groups of young people ending up making decisions they aren’t fully informed about. These sessions are for informal discussions to take place in a safe confidential space with myself around to ensure information discussed is aiding any decisions they may make.

They are only for people who are or have engaged in other services offered by TLSMA at this time.

Sexual Health Support

I am part of the C-Card scheme which is a free confidential service, helping young people aged 13 to 24 to access free condoms quickly, easily and without embarrassment. This includes a condom demonstration and information about sexual health. I also specialise in helping young people understand healthy relationships and gaining an understanding of domestic and sexual violence.

EMDR

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) was developed, and is best known for helping trauma. Its recognised by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and the World Health Organisation (WHO) as a treatment for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. EMDR is a psychotherapy that helps you process and recover from past experiences that are affecting your wellbeing. It involves using eye movements combined with talk therapy in a specific format.  It can also be used to help with a range of mental health difficulties including anxiety, depression, addictions, behavioural difficulties, relationship issues and more.
